Are you taking on any apprentices?
No we are not taking on any apprentices now or in the future.

How can I book an appointment?
You will need to call into the shop with a non refundable cash deposit of £30 – £50 to book an appointment with us, this will secure your appointment and is deducted from the total cost of your tattoo. We cannot make appointments over the phone. If you do not turn up for your appointment then you will lose your deposit. We are willing to change your appointment once if you give us 48 hours notice. We only take CASH in the shop. For custom work, you’ll need to come in and see us for a consultation and bring printed reference ideas with you.  Please bring any ideas with you in printed form only or via email if it’s an enquiry, we do not accept images you show us on mobile phones etc.

Cancelling an appointment
You must give us at least 48 hours notice if you wish to cancel/rearrange your appointment, otherwise you will need to re-book and leave another deposit. If you do not show up for your appointment you forfeit your deposit  and you will have to pay in full for the appointment  you missed before being offered another. We welcome telephone enquiries but you will need to visit us in person to make a booking.

How much is a tattoo?
Our minimum charge is £40, but there is no set price for a tattoo. Price depends on the size and complexity of the tattoo that you want and how long it takes to tattoo. If you come into the shop and we can see the design and size then we can normally give you a price. Try not to choose a tattoo based on price, it’s much better to save up and get a tattoo that you actually want, rather than the cheapest one you can find. A tattoo is probably one of the only things in life that you can buy and keep forever, therefore well worth the money you spend on it.

Do you do walk ins?
No we no longer run a specific walk in day. But occasionally we have cancellations and maybe able to do a walk in if the appointment is not filled.

Are you licensed?
Yes. All tattoo studios must by law register with the local authority and be inspected by the environmental health officer before they can open to the public. The licence must be displayed in the shop.

Do you use new needles?
Yes. Each customer will have new prepackaged sterilised needles. At Bluebird Tattoo we buy ready made sterilised needles, which are individually sealed under laboratory conditions.

Will it hurt?
When you have a tattoo you will feel some discomfort. Everyone has a different pain threshold so it is very difficult to say how much discomfort each person will feel. At Bluebird Tattoo we will work to help you get through your tattoo, if you need a break we can stop at intervals, just let us know.

Can I have a tattoo put anywhere on my body?
No. We do not tattoo the face and genitals. Hands and necks will be tattooed at our discretion if you are heavily tattooed.

Can you cover over or rework old tattoos?
For the time being we are NOT taking on any cover up work. This is due to the amount of new designs we are working on. However if you want some advice then please do come by the shop.

Can you design a tattoo for me?
Yes. We are more than happy to help you design your next tattoo. Come down and discuss what you like and want. Bring along as much reference material as you can and we will try our best to put your ideas onto paper ready to tattoo onto you. We charge a £30 to £50 one off payment for this service.

Can I give my consent for my son/daughter who is under 18 to have a tattoo?
No. The law states that the person getting tattooed must be 18 or over. We ask for photographic ID in the form of either a Driving Licence or a Passport. We will refuse to tattoo anyone who is, or appears to be, underage and cannot prove their age.
